School Based Services

Autism Behavior Services, Inc. (ABSI) stands out for its comprehensive range of school-based services as a California Non Public Agency. ABSI tailors services to meet the diverse needs of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and various levels of neurodiversity. One of their key offerings is Individualized Education Program (IEP) support, where they collaborate closely with schools to develop, review, and enhance IEPs for students.

Recognizing the critical role of these plans in meeting the unique educational needs of each student, their team provides expertise and guidance to ensure that IEPs are effectively designed and implemented to foster academic, social, and behavioral success. ABSI believes in taking a “whole person approach” to the educational plans that we help craft. In doing so, we feel that this will set up students for success in school and outside of the classroom.

Additionally, Autism Behavior Services, Inc. conducts Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) aimed at thoroughly assessing a student’s educational needs and providing comprehensive insights into their strengths and challenges. Again, this whole person approach aids in offering a holistic understanding of the student, guiding educators and parents in making informed decisions about appropriate interventions and educational strategies. Moreover, the organization specializes in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), which are crucial in understanding the underlying reasons for challenging behaviors in certain students who are neurodiverse. This assessment serves as a foundation for creating Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) tailored to address specific behavioral challenges, promoting a supportive and conducive learning environment. ABSI doesn’t just craft a plan but we go a step further offering training and implementation to help ensure the plan’s success.

Our team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Qualified Autism Service Practitioner Supervisors (QASP-S) provides consulting services, offering expert guidance and support to schools in developing and implementing evidence-based interventions and strategies. This includes Behavior Intervention Development (BID) and Behavior Intervention Implementation (BII), where BCBAs and behavior therapists work closely with school staff to create and execute effective behavior plans tailored to the unique needs of each student.

Breakdown of services offered:

Individualized Education Program (IEP) support
Our clinical team and school staff collaborate closely to develop, review, and enhance a student’s IEP. A “whole person” approach is taken so that the program can maximize the student’s strengths.
Independent Educational Evaluations (IEE)
A thorough assessment of a student’s educational needs and providing comprehensive insights into their strengths and challenges. From there, a program will be created to address ways to support the student in achieving success in the classroom.
Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA)
In conjunction with school staff we will observe the student in an effort to understand the underlying reasons for challenging behaviors, and look for ways to manage them so that the student feels supported in their environment.
Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
The behavior plans we craft look at ways to incorporate support into the plan. As a BIP is designed to address specific behavioral challenges, every effort will be made to promote a supportive and conducive learning environment.
Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA)
Our clinicians come to your school with many years of experience in the field. They will bring this knowledge into the meetings and the plans they help put together, with the goal of working together for what is best for the student and the educational institution.
Behavior Intervention Development (BID)
Based on evidence-based interventions and strategies we develop our plans with a “whole person” approach mindset.
Behavior Intervention Implementation (BII)
During the implementation process our staff and school staff will work closely to create and execute a plan to meet the unique needs of each student.
