Autism Behavior Services, Inc. (ABSI) was founded in 2010 by Dr. Rosa Patterson. Her goal was to put together the best technicians in the Oakland area and across the nation. Mixing virtual and “in the field” training, ABSI’s vision was for our team members to be able to support clients across any situation they found themselves in.

As a Behavior Technician with ABSI, your role will see you have the opportunity to provide crucial services in the lives of the people you support. The level of consistency you bring into homes, classrooms, the community, or even in a telehealth capacity will allow you to impact many lives. Additionally, ABSI also offers families a bevy of choices so that they can decide which environments best meet the needs of their loved ones receiving therapy.
Additionally, ABSI increases team member engagement by hosting numerous company events throughout the year. We seek team member input so that these events can best meet the interests of those attending. To that end, ABSI encourages family members and loved ones to join in our company events.
our candidates, the majority of our training is set up to be completed online. As an ABAT candidate you will work through a series of behavioral modules, and what you learn will be merged with the “in the field experience”.This will come in the form of overlapping with clients under the guidance of a Behavior Technician already working in the field. These experienced clinicians will oversee you regarding the best practices of your role as an ABAT, and, in the process, prepare you to work with clients of your own.
Once you’ve finished Behavior Technician training you will be awarded a certificate from TBU for QABA. TBU for QABA's standards meet the stringent requirements of the ABAT certification. You can be confident that what you’ve learned will prepare you to work with clients as a Behavior Technician.
Your first ABAT exam attempt will be covered by Autism Behavior Services, Inc.. In addition to study materials that ABSI will provide, you will also have clinicians and other ABATs as resources to help disseminate information and spot any study areas in which you might need assistance.

Additionally, ABSI offers Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to our team members. These units help ensure that we are keeping up with the trends of the industry, and at the same time allow for your career advancement.
The training we offer is directly in line with strict ABAT/RBT board requirements. ABSI strives to provide you with a mix of hands-on experience working with clients, as well as dynamic information (supported by Continuing Education Units) that will support your skillset as you work with clients in the home, school, community, and via telehealth.
