Behavior Technician - Paid Training ABAT RBT

🕚 Part-Time Morning/Afternoon/Evenings shifts available M-F, MWF, or TTHSat

💳 Starting rate: $21/h (More info)

40 hours paid training in alignment with ABAT (Applied Behavior Analysis Technician)/RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) Board Requirements.

▶ After successfully completing the 40 hours of paid training, candidates will receive a certificate of completion from TBU for QABA that fulfills the ABAT/RBT training requirements.

🌟 In addition to that candidates will complete fieldwork toward their certification requirements:

▶ The 40 hours of paid training fulfills the requirement for the candidate to sit for the RBT/ABAT Exams. The certification exam is paid for by ABSI. (note - this is for the first attempt)

▶ Overlap with team members providing hands-on experience to ensure success after getting certified as an ABAT or RBT.

Who We are

Founded in 2010 by Dr. Rosa Patterson, Autism Behavior Services, Inc. sought to provide top level care with the best technicians and clinicians in the Alameda County area. To make this a reality, Dr. Patterson mixed virtual and “in the field” training so that ABSI’s team members would be able to support clients across any situation they faced. Dr. Patterson wanted to create a culture where team members would view working there as a chance to have a rewarding career. ABSI makes every effort to provide new opportunities and career expanding roles to team members as they become available.

40 Hours Paid Training

ABSI has one of the strongest training curricula that focus on stringent ABAT requirements. In order to meet the busy schedules of our candidates, our training is set up to be completed online. ABAT candidate’s work through a series of behavioral modules, and what you learn is merged with “in the field experience”.

This comes in the form of overlapping with clients under the guidance of a Behavior Technician already working in the field. Additionally, experienced clinicians will oversee you regarding the best practices of your role as an ABAT, and, in the process, collaborate to prepare you to work with clients of your own.

Certification

After your Behavior Technician training is complete, you will be awarded a certificate from TBU FOR QABA. The standards for TBU for QABA meet the stringent requirements of ABAT certification. You can be confident that what you’ve learned will put you in a position to work with clients as a Behavior Technician.

Exam Support

Your first ABAT exam attempt is covered by Autism Behavior Services, Inc.. In addition to study materials that ABSI offers, you will be able to discuss what you have learned with clinicians and other ABATs. This will allow you to disseminate information and spot any study areas where you might need assistance.

FAQ

How much will I make as a behavior technician?

Paid Training – 40+ hours paid at the state or local municipality minimum wage

Travel time, continuing education trainings, and all other non clinical work – paid at the state or local municipality minimum wage

Mileage Pay – $0.55 per applicable mile

Clinical care – providing ABA treatment to the client – starting at $21 per hour

What are the job requirements of an ABAT?
ABSI team members are prepared in a myriad of ways to support all the clients they serve. Merging your training with “in the field” experiences, you are never in a position where you won’t feel supported. Team members constantly have access to ABSI’s clinicians, and other Behavior Technicians, to assist with the multitude of questions that may come up in the field.
Can Becoming a Behavior Technician lead to other job opportunities?
The short answer is YES! ABSI seeks to elevate team members from within the organization. We routinely have job openings to advance your career and make you aware of them as they are available.
What are some environments a Behavior Technician might work in?
Behavior Technicians can work in (but are not limited to) the home, school, or client’s community. While those are the standard areas, there are situations a technician may work in outside of that.
