About us
In 2010, Dr. Rosa Patterson founded Autism Behavior Services, Inc. (ABSI) with the goal of putting together the best team of behavior technicians in the greater Ventura area. Giving our Behavior Technician candidates a mix of virtual and “in the field” training, we wanted them to be equipped to support our clients across a multitude of situations.
Autism Behavior Services, Inc. aspired to create a culture where team members would see working with us as a chance to have a career. To that end, ABSI makes every effort to offer new opportunities and exciting roles to team members as they present themselves.
Your role as a Behavior Technician with ABSI will allow you to have the opportunity to provide crucial services in the lives of people you support. The encouragement you bring into homes, classrooms, numerous communities, or even in a telehealth capacity will enable you to see the impact you have on other people’s lives. ABSI also tries to provide families an array of choices so that they can decide which environments best suit their loved ones’ learning modality.
Are you looking for a company that offers a team environment and a tight knit, family feel? ABSI looks to increase team member engagement by hosting a number of company events throughout the year. Team member input is sought for these events so they can meet the interests of all those attending. ABSI also encourages family members and loved ones to join our company events.
40 Hours Paid Training
The training curriculum from ABSI follows strict ABAT/RBT board requirements. In an effort to meet our candidates busy schedules, our training is set up to be completed online. As you make your way through the robust modules, what you are learning will be merged with “in the field experience”.
To prepare our candidates, Behavior Technician candidates will overlap with others already in the field. This provides the experience you need to work in the field with clients as well as clinicians. These clinicians will help guide you in the best practices of your ABAT role, and prepare you to take on clients of your own.
Certification
After your Behavior Technician training is complete you will be awarded a certificate from TBU FOR QABA. This organization's standards meet the stringent requirements of the ABAT/RBT board.
Exam Support
Candidates first ABAT exam attempt will be paid for by Autism Behavior Services, Inc..
In addition to your study materials, you will have clinicians and other ABATs as resources to discuss any questions and illuminate trouble areas in your studying should you need any assistance.
